We are a HIGH QUALITY small. botique size wine farm growing and producing less than 400 cases of wine a year. We were certified organic (vineyard & winery) from 1997 to 2007. We continue to practice sustainable, growing practices.
We are located on Lake Erie in Northeast Ohio on a ridge at approximately 1200 feet elevation where we grow Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Reisling and Bordeaux red varieties of grapes.
We are located about halfway between Cleveland, Ohio and Erie, Pennsylvania in a region where the microclimate approximates that of Bourgogne and Bordeaux. With 2500 to 3000 mean degrees each year, we have selected the best French grape varieties and clones to make old world style wines with rich, full flavors.
We are traditional. Vines are pruned back to less than 2T/A, wines are aged sur lee in the cellar, and we use only the best French Barrels and Italian Stainless Steel wine tanks. To reduce the risk of cellaring our wines, we use top grade 6 corks for bottling our wines.
